Healing After C-Section, surgeries, endometriosis and fertility struggles

For many women, the journey through birth, surgery, or ongoing health challenges leaves behind more than just physical scars. It can create a sense of disconnection — a belly that feels foreign, a body shaped by unexpected changes, or ongoing pain that continues quietly in the background.

C-Section Recovery: More Than Just a Scar

After a C-section, it’s common to feel sensations such as pulling, tightness, or even numbness around the scar. While these experiences are common, they’re not to be normalised. They are signs that your body may be carrying restrictions in the tissue, limiting movement, circulation, and even the breath.

These effects can show up long after the scar looks healed on the outside. There can still be deeper restrictions caused not only by surgery but also by the pregnancy itself.

Treatment can begin from eight weeks post-surgery, once a scar is fully healed and free from scabbing or infection. Just as important as the physical readiness is how you feel — you need to feel comfortable and safe to have the area touched. Sessions are gentle, supportive, and deeply nurturing, allowing your body to release tension while you reconnect with this part of yourself.

Scar release is not simply “scar massage.” It involves working with the entire abdominal area and associated tissues, helping to restore mobility, improve posture, release tension & free up the breath. With this holistic approach, many people notice not only physical relief but also a sense of emotional reconnection with their body.

If you are planning another pregnancy, scar release beforehand can be especially beneficial. It supports abdominal strength and posture, helps the tissue move more freely, and can even assist with collagen health, allowing your skin to stretch more easily through the pregnancy.

Endometriosis: Pain, Inflammation & Fatigue

For those living with endometriosis, pain & inflammation can be frequently experienced. Although endo is multi factorial in nature, including massage & self care techniques (along with dietary support & herbal medicine) into your routine can support in calming inflammation, balancing hormones, and reducing adhesions that cause pain.

These approaches work gently with your body to create small but powerful shifts to help manage symptoms.

Fertility & Womb Health

When trying to conceive, more than any other time your womb, circulation, and nervous system need nurturing. Fertility is about creating an inner environment of health and flow.

By releasing restrictions around the abdomen and pelvic bowl, supporting circulation, and helping release ‘old stories’ you may hold in your body, you are better prepared for conception – either natural or assisted. Herbal and nutritional support can also work alongside treatments to encourage vitality and balance.
